HFLS is the largest nonprofit interest-free lender in the United States. We have been making loans based on financial need to borrowers of all backgrounds since 1892. Our repayment rate is 99%, the result of a unique lending model that relies on personal guarantors to prevent default. As our loans are repaid, the capital is lent out again and again, helping more people and multiplying impact over time.
This year HFLS will lend approximately $40 million to nearly 2,000 households, and we strive to help more people every year.
To scale lending, fundraising, and impact, HFLS depends on reliable systems, accurate data, efficient workflows, and regular reporting. The Systems & Data team supports the technology and information infrastructure that enables staff to serve applicants and borrowers, strengthen donor and funder relationships, make informed decisions, and understand HFLS’s impact.
The Systems & Data Officer will join a two-person Systems & Data team in providing hands‑on support for the systems, data, reporting, and workflows that drive HFLS’s work, serving as a front‑line resource for technical issues, staff report requests, and system enhancements.
