Job summary

Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) is seeking a Systems and Cloud Engineer to maintain robust LAN/WAN and cloud infrastructure. The role supports security, reliability, and scalable IT services for affordable housing initiatives serving Sacramento.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of IT work experience designing, installing, and maintaining complex IT systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in network engineering, MIS, CS, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Azure AD, DNS, Windows Servers, Firewalls, Switching, VPN.
• Experience with Office365, Azure, and AWS cloud services.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and network issues.
• Monitor industry trends and developments for agency applications.
• Coordinate Internet/Intranet access and ISP vendor problem resolution.
• Document and communicate problem resolutions to IT staff.
• Design and implement on-premises, hosted, and cloud solutions.
• Maintain cloud technology and network upgrades; perform capacity planning.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of network, cloud, and server systems.
• Lead project plans, assemble teams, schedule tasks, and monitor progress.
• Coordinate with vendors and other departments on technology needs.
