Qualifications

  • 4+ years Azure administration experience.
  • 4+ years experience with Azure IaaS resources (VMs, storage, backup).
  • Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation.
  • Experience with Azure monitoring & logging (Log Analytics, App Insights).
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management in cloud environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Azure SME for the Hosted Operations Team.
  • Manage full lifecycle of Azure IaaS VMs (deployment, backup, sizing, imaging).
  • Configure and optimize Azure Monitor services (Diagnostics, Log Analytics, App Insights, KQL).
  • Support deployment with CI/CD tools like Harness and Octopus Deploy.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain applications in AKS environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure and provide root cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with teams to improve cloud deployment processes and automation.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimize Azure environments.
  • Maintain proper documentation of cloud infrastructure and procedures.
  • Deliver training on cloud technologies and workflows.
  • Monitor production and lead incident management efforts.
  • Analyze performance and recommend reliability improvements.

Pay Rate: $58 - 60/hour

Job Description:
The Systems Applications Administrator (Senior Cloud Systems Engineer - Azure) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise Azure cloud environments while serving as a technical subject matter expert for cloud operations. This role focuses on Azure infrastructure administration, cloud migrations, CI/CD processes, monitoring, automation, incident resolution, and supporting production environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong Azure platform expertise, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to improve cloud systems and operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Hosted Operations Team, providing technical guidance and escalation support.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Azure IaaS virtual machines, including deployment, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, resizing, imaging, and scaling activities.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Azure Monitor services, including Diagnostic Settings, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Kusto Query Language (KQL) reporting.
  • Utilize CI/CD methodologies and deployment tools such as Harness and Octopus Deploy to support application delivery and infrastructure automation.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain applications within Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure and application issues while providing advanced technical support and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Product, and Operations teams to develop and improve cloud deployment processes and internal tools.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Azure environments through automation, process improvement, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Maintain and improve client cloud environment configurations while ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
  • Organize and deliver training sessions on cloud technologies, operational procedures, and workflow improvements.
  • Monitor production environments and lead incident management efforts through successful resolution.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and recommend solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support Azure migration and modernization initiatives using Azure-native migration tools.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained accurately for cloud infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing Azure migration and data migration tools.
  • Experience managing Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) resources, including virtual machines, storage, backup, and recovery services.
  • Experience with Azure monitoring and logging solutions, including Log Analytics and Application Insights.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills within cloud-hosted environments.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD practices and deployment automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Monitor, Azure Security services, and Azure Governance tools.
  • Proficiency with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Policy, and Key Vault.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances (ACI), and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Windows Server administration experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Experience contributing to process improvements and cloud optimization initiatives.
