MIT Lincoln Laboratory's C-WMD Systems Group in Lexington, MA, seeks a Technical Staff member to tackle multidisciplinary problems across sensors, AI, data analytics, and autonomous systems for homeland defense. You will contribute to modeling, simulation, and field-testing of counter-WMD technologies, collaborating with researchers, first responders, and sponsors in both laboratory and field environments.

Applicants should have a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to apply systems-level thinking to holistic chemical and biodefense solutions.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess, develop, and test sensors and sensing architectures for WMD threat detection.
• Explore AI, data analytics, sensor fusion, and autonomous systems for C-WMD applications.
• Evaluate technologies and architectures to enhance situational awareness in operational contexts.
• Forecast threat behavior using computational and experimental approaches.
• Develop models and simulations that integrate operational constraints and concepts of operation.
• Design, prototype, and field-test homeland protection systems.
