Job summary

CRC Group is seeking a Business/Systems Analyst to join our engineering team supporting CRC Specialty. You will translate business requirements into user stories for UI designers and developers, focusing on existing and new capabilities built on the Microsoft stack, including Azure and OpenAI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience with IT background and software development exposure.
  • Minimum 4 years as a business analyst or related role with PM, BPA, or operations experience.
  • Ability to manage requirements across business, functional and technical domains.
  • Experience with Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Proficient in documenting, presenting and facilitating requirements sessions.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools and core business systems.

  • Member of engineering team supporting CRC Specialty, CRC’s brokerage business.
  • Support internal facing web applications that helps our producers better support and service our retail agency partners.
  • Focus is on working with product owners to translate business requirements into actionable user stories for UI designers and developers.
  • Requirements work targeted at both existing and new capabilities.
  • Applications are built on Microsoft stack, including Microsoft Azure and OpenAI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Technology Delivery team and LOBs.
  • Collaborate with peer groups in Technology and LOBs to identify, document and communicate business needs and provide technology solutions.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business processes and strategies.
  • Establish project and work requests requirements, using document, business process and workflow analysis. Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with appropriate stakeholders to plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and technical requirements.
  • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
  • Prepare user interface diagrams, business process and workflow diagrams in support of small work requests (enhancements) or large scale project implementations.
  • Understand the long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives and introduce technical innovations, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of a solution that meets the business requirements.
  • Assist/coordinate pre-planning activities (e.g. business case, project estimate, project risk assessment, stakeholder analysis, draft charter).
  • Facilitate routine meetings with business stakeholders to provide updates on in-flight initiatives.
  • Attend business unit management meetings, as needed.
  • Become deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.
  • Observe and ensure strict adherence to all Technology and CRC Group's policies and standards (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management).
  • Coach and mentor junior level Business/System Analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience to include six years of information technology experience with significant experience in software development
  • 2. Four years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Business Process Management, Relationship Management, Business Operations, Quality
  • 3. Management Experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting and managing business, functional and technical requirements
  • 4. Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies
  • 5. Ability to interact with management, business staff, ADS and DTS personnel in order to gather, compile and exchange information on work requests/project requirements and negotiate disputes effectively
  • 6. Strong presentation, verbal and written skills
  • 7. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
  • 8. Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels and resolve conflicts
  • 9. Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
  • 10. Excellent facilitation and organizational skills
  • 11. Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • 12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
  • 13. Understand core systems, applications and technical platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1. An understanding of current trends in technology
  • 2. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data
  • 3. Project Management Institute (PMI) or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification
  • 4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio
