Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, Massachusetts is seeking a Systems Analysis Engineer 1 to apply advanced Digital Engineering to complex systems across deterrence, missile defense, hypersonics, space, and biotechnology. You will contribute to early trade studies, concept and architecture design, integration, testing and operation within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires 0–3 years of experience in systems analysis, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and familiarity with MBSE tools

Qualifications

  • Requires 0–3 years experience in systems analysis or related.
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as SysML; knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink a plus.
  • Experience integrating descriptive modeling tools with other simulation tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute system engineering lifecycle assignments: design, integration, testing and operation.
  • Prepare content for technical reports and presentations.
  • Adapt to changes in program priorities and requirements.
  • Identify challenges and communicate them to project leadership.
  • Expand depth/knowledge in technical discipline through formal and informal learning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners.
  • Translate requirements into technical and architectural decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

A Systems Analysis Engineer 1 develops and applies advanced Digital Engineering capabilities for the analysis of complex systems in domains such as: strategic deterrence, missile defense, hypersonics, space, precision guided munitions, autonomous air/sea vehicles, and biotechnology. Our multi-disciplinary teams innovate and develop solutions for full system development lifecycle from trade studies, to concept and architecture design, to integration, to testing and operation.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Independently execute system engineering lifecycle assignments; concept and architecture design, integration, testing and operation, under the oversight of program leadership.
  • Provide content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance.
  • Adapt appropriately to changes in program priorities and requirements.
  • Identify challenges associated with assigned work and communicate them to project leadership.
  • Continues to expand their depth/knowledge in their technical discipline through formal and informal learning.
  • Work in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment including stakeholders and external partners.
  • Contribute to translation of requirements into technical and architectural decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Requires 0‑3 years experience in systems analysis or related.
  • Experience in use of MBSE tools such as SysML, knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink a plus.
  • Experience in integrating descriptive modeling tools with other simulation tools a plus.
Additional Job Description

Salary

$62,500.00 – $140,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all U.S. locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement’s approved rates by location and role.
