Job summary

Vistex is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage and secure our Windows server, VMware, storage, backup, and enterprise application environments. You will ensure reliability, performance, and security while delivering responsive user support.

The role requires experience with Windows Server 2019/2022/2025, VMware, SAN storage, Linux, and strong problem-solving. Travel to Chicagoland data centers may be required; excellent communication and customer-service orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in systems administration, infrastructure, or a related IT role.
• Strong experience administering Windows Server operating systems (2019/2022/2025).
• Excellent knowledge of VMware vSphere virtualization and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of server hardware administration, including memory, storage, and controllers.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience with SAN storage and storage allocation.
• Experience with Linux administration.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows server infrastructure (2019/2022/2025).
• Administer server hardware, operating systems, and backend infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and security controls.
• Apply updates and security patches per standards and procedures.
• Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and health.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support as required.
• Travel to Chicagoland data center for server hardware work.
• Collaborate with network, security, cloud, and application teams to resolve issues.
