Position Overview

We are seeking a Tier 2 Level 2 Systems Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role is responsible for maintaining the health, security, and performance of server infrastructure, operating systems, and core applications across a secure enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will provide advanced technical support for escalated issues, execute patch management and system configurations, maintain strict security controls, and collaborate on cross-functional IT projects.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Maintenance

Monitor, manage, and maintain enterprise servers, operating systems, and key business applications.

Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes in accordance with established change management procedures.

Perform routine system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

User Support & Troubleshooting

Provide advanced (Tier 2) technical support for escalated issues from help desk/Tier 1 teams.

Diagnose and resolve complex system, application, and network-related incidents.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls following principle-of-least-privilege guidelines.

Implementation & Configuration

Install, configure, and deploy new systems, hardware, applications, and management tools.

Assist with system upgrades, data migrations, and tool integrations.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and IT standards.

Security & Compliance

Ensure all systems adhere to organizational security policies and federal compliance standards.

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
