You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and drive infrastructure improvements using tools like Ansible, Docker, and AWS-native services.
This position requires a strong foundation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, experience supporting Java-based applications, and a proven ability to work independently while managing patching, monitoring, and automation across secure environments. Your day-to-day will include log analysis, incident response, vulnerability remediation, and close collaboration with client security teams to ensure STIG and DoD/FedRAMP compliance.
If you are a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, cloud exposure (AWS preferred), and a security-first mindset, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, upgrade, and monitor Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Implement and refine alerts, dashboards, and monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Analyze logs, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to incident response and recovery planning.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve system stability.
  • Collaborate with application engineers, developers, DBAs, and cloud architects to support deployments and infrastructure improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; proactively manage expectations, ensure client satisfaction, and address technical concerns.
  • Explore existing environments, document findings, and implement enhancements independently.
  • Manage patching, service configuration, and compliance with STIG, CIS, and DoD/FedRAMP standards.
  • Review security scan results (e.g., IAVAs, ACAS), assess risk, and work closely with client security teams to remediate findings.
  • Track vulnerabilities and remediations in JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and audit readiness.
  • Support middleware and cloud configurations, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
  • Manage documentation and automation repositories in JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Provide best-practice support for secure, high-availability government and military systems.
  • Support off-hours releases and ensure smooth deployment of application updates.
  • Continuously expand cloud expertise through hands-on work and certification.

Experience and Skill Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen eligible for a Public Trust Clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification
  • 6+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years expert-level Linux administration (RHEL)
  • 3+ years supporting Java apps with Tomcat and HTTP Server (deployment, scripting, logs, troubleshooting)
  • 1+ years with Ansible for automation and configuration management
  • Strong scripting and log analysis skills across Linux and cloud environments
  • Excellent communication skills for documenting, troubleshooting, and client interaction
  • Experience in secure production environments with Linux hardening and patch management
  • Certifications in systems/cloud administration or security (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively
  • Strong documentation and client-facing collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and cybersecurity fundamentals (hardening, patching, analysis)
Physical and Mental Requirements:
