Job summary

Yampa Valley Electric Association seeks a Systems Administrator to keep network, servers, and software running smoothly while serving staff across departments. You’ll build strong relationships, solve real problems, and help staff get more from technology.

You’ll work on AD, Microsoft 365, on‑prem and virtual servers, firewalls, backups, and cybersecurity aligned with NIST. The role requires hands‑on IT experience, customer‑facing skills, and the ability to lead small projects in a utility

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field, or 5+ years of IT experience.
• 3+ years in IT Systems Administration with knowledge of AD, Windows Server, networking.
• 2+ years in customer-facing support with service mindset.
• Expertise or ability to become proficient in iVUE Connect – System.
• ERP experience (Dynamics 365, SAP, ERPNext) acceptable if no iVUE.
• Independently resolve problems, research information, create solutions.
• Communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to lead small project teams and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure management: AD, M365, on-prem/virtual servers, network switches, firewalls, backups.
• Cybersecurity compliance: monitor and enhance security per NIST; patching, access controls.
• Application support: NISC and iVUE platform support and improvements.
• User support & training: set up accounts/workstations, training, documentation.
• Collaboration & improvement: coordinate integrations and deployments across departments.
