Job summary

JT4, LLC seeks a Systems Administrator II to support Windows and UNIX platforms across DoD IT environments. You will deploy, configure, secure, and patch systems, manage virtualization, and maintain thorough documentation. Applicants should have an associate or higher degree and at least five years of related experience.

You must be able to obtain a government security clearance and possess a valid driver’s license; CompTIA Security+ CE must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum five years related experience in computer systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification within ninety days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate system specifications and configure systems for compatibility.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server/Desktop platforms.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain UNIX platforms (Red Hat, Ubuntu).
• Configure Windows Domain Services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
• Manage Storage Technologies (SAN, NAS).
• Maintain virtualization (VMware ESXi, vSphere, Horizon).
• Perform patch management with regression testing and coordination.
• Create and maintain system documentation and inventories.
• Apply Cyber Security controls to supported environments.
• Diagnose and resolve beginner to intermediate IT issues with minimal supervision.

Job description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties

Evaluates system specifications, configures system, establishes standards, insures hardware/software compatibility and maintains workstations and Microsoft (MS) Windows Operating Systems for stable performance.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

• Deploy, configure and maintain Windows Server and Windows Desktop platforms
• Deploy, configure and maintain UNIX Platforms, such as Red Hat and Ubuntu
• Configure and maintain Windows Domain Services, such as Active Directory, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Domain Name Service and Group Policy Objects
• Deploy, configure and maintain Storage Technologies, such as Virtual Storage Area Network and Network Area Storage
• Deploy, configure and maintain virtualization technologies, including VMWare ESXI, vSphere and Omnissia Horizon
• Perform patch management activities, to include regression testing and deployment coordination
• Create and maintain, as applicable, documentation of supported systems, to include hardware and software inventories and procedural documentation
• Evaluate and apply Cyber Security controls to a supported environment, as directed
• Independently diagnose and resolve beginner to intermediate level IT-related issues with minimal supervision
• Performs other related duties as required

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Python, Ansible and Terraform
• Experience with Zero and Thin Client deployments
• Experience in Department of War IT environments

Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience

Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training. Possess five years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise. Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.

In addition, a Systems Administrator II must possess the following qualifications:

• Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
• Employee is expected to routinely cross fields in the completion of somewhat difficult and varied assignments
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
• Must possess valid, state-issued driver’s license
• Possess and maintain, or have the ability to acquire within ninety days of hire, the CompTIA Security+ CE certification

The expected salary range for this position is 67K to 96K annually.

Working Conditions

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
