Responsibilities

  • Coordinate institutional research expenditure reporting activities for Office of Research leadership and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to preparation, validation, reconciliation, and submission support of the NSF HERD Survey.
  • Extract, analyze, validate, and reconcile research expenditure data from Oracle Financials and related data sources.
  • Develop methodologies to distinguish GA and GL data elements used in reporting and submissions.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visual analytics using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL-based environments.
  • Develop repeatable data quality processes, validation controls, and reconciliation procedures to improve data integrity.
  • Support development, maintenance, and modernization of Office of Research websites (Joomla/SharePoint365) and assist with accessibility compliance.

General Responsibilities

The Office of Research is seeking a System Administrator II to support institutional research reporting, analytics, and data management initiatives. This position serves a key role in the preparation and validation of the NSF Higher Education Research Development (HERD) Survey and the development of reporting solutions that support research administration and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work with research and financial data, develop dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, support data quality and governance efforts, and collaborate with stakeholders across the university. Experience with business intelligence tools, analytics, and research administration processes is highly desirable.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • 1. Coordinate institutional research expenditure reporting activities and support reporting requests for Office of Research leadership and university stakeholders.
  • 2. Serve as a primary contributor for the preparation, validation, reconciliation, and submission support of the National Science Foundation Higher Education Research Development (NSF HERD) Survey.
  • 3. Perform data extraction, analysis, validation, and reconciliation of research expenditure data from Oracle Financials and related institutional data sources.
  • 4. Develop and maintain methodologies for distinguishing General Administration (GA) and General Ledger (GL) financial data elements used in research expenditure reporting and survey submissions.
  • 5. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visual analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL-based reporting environments, and related analytics technologies.
  • 6. Develop repeatable data quality processes, validation controls, and reconciliation procedures to improve reporting accuracy and data integrity.
  • 7. Support the development, maintenance, and modernization of Office of Research websites, including Joomla and SharePoint365 sites, and support digital accessibility compliance initiatives by evaluating and remediating web content, documents, dashboards, and online resources.
  • 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range

$75,000 – $90,000

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Related Degree Fields: Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Finance, Research Administration, Public Administration, MIS, Statistics, or related fields.

Related Experience: Enterprise reporting, business intelligence, data analytics, institutional reporting, research administration, sponsored programs, financial reporting, data management, dashboard development, data governance, reconciliation, and support of university or research systems.

Higher education or research reporting experience preferred.
