Job summary

Connect Media Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage hosting infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud services for our managed hosting platform.

You will work with Linux and Windows servers, automation, and security best practices to ensure reliability and performance for customers across Northwest Oklahoma.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and securing Linux/Windows servers.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a knowledgeable Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our hosting infrastructure, virtualization environment, and cloud services while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of customer systems.

Position Summary

The Systems Administrator – Hosting & Infrastructure is responsible for deploying, maintaining, securing, and monitoring the servers and services that power Connect Media Solutions’ web hosting platform, internal infrastructure, and managed cloud environments.

This role works with Linux and Windows servers, virtualization platforms, web hosting control panels, databases, networking equipment, backup systems, and cloud services. The ideal candidate enjoys automation, troubleshooting, and building reliable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Server Administration

• Deploy and maintain Linux and Windows servers
• Install, configure, and update operating systems
• Monitor server health and performance
• Troubleshoot server issues and outages
• Perform system upgrades and patch management
• Maintain virtualization hosts and virtual machines

Web Hosting

• Manage shared and dedicated hosting environments
• Deploy and maintain web servers
• Configure virtual hosts and SSL certificates
• Troubleshoot website and hosting issues
• Maintain DNS records and domain configurations
• Support customer website migrations
• Manage hosting control panels and customer accounts

Infrastructure

• Manage virtualization platforms such as Proxmox
• Configure storage systems and network-attached storage
• Monitor backups and disaster recovery processes
• Maintain firewall and network infrastructure
• Configure VLANs and internal networking
• Monitor system capacity and performance

Security

• Perform security updates and vulnerability remediation
• Monitor logs for unusual activity
• Configure firewalls and access controls
• Manage user permissions and authentication
• Maintain backup verification procedures
• Assist with disaster recovery planning

Automation & Monitoring

• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks
• Monitor systems using centralized monitoring platforms
• Respond to system alerts
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure and procedures
• Improve system reliability through automation

Customer Support

• Resolve advanced hosting and infrastructure support requests
• Assist with server migrations
• Troubleshoot email, DNS, and hosting issues
• Collaborate with the helpdesk team to resolve escalated issues
