Job summary

TechArmy in Tallahassee, FL seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and expand the FDOT infrastructure. You will coordinate server configuration with multiple parties, manage cloud services (AWS/Azure, other providers), and oversee Azure DevOps environments to optimize performance and security.

You will also monitor systems, recommend upgrades, and collaborate with developers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-paced government-related setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT.
• 2–3 years of experience with Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022.
• 2–3 years of IIS Administration.
• 2–3 years of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS permissions.
• 2–3 years of AWS cloud experience.
• 2–3 years of MS Azure cloud experience preferred.
• 2–3 years of other cloud providers (GCP) preferred.
• 2–3 years of Microsoft software administration.
• 3–5 years in IT infrastructure, operations, and support.
• 5–8 years in information systems engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Experience

2 – 3 years of IIS Administration.

2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.

2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.

2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.

2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.

2 – 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.

3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.

3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.

5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.

Primary Job Duties / Tasks

The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. 1.Support and expand FDOT infrastructure.
2. 2.Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors).
3. 3.Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
4. 4.Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
5. 8.Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
6. 9.Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
7. 10.Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.

1. Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
2. Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
3. Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.

1. Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
2. Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
3. Support other IT staff, including developers.
4. Other duties as assigned.
