This role is responsible for the oversight, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Microsoft, Linux, and multi-cloud environments supporting Client business-critical applications and infrastructure.

Position Overview
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Office of Information Technology (OIT), is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support, administer, and enhance the Department's enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for the oversight, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Microsoft, Linux, and multi-cloud environments supporting FDOT's business-critical applications and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with Windows Server administration, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, networking, and cloud infrastructure while supporting enterprise systems in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and expand FDOT's enterprise server infrastructure.
- Configure, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022).
- Coordinate server configuration and administration activities with FDOT, State Data Center (SDC), vendors, and contractors.
- Monitor system availability, security, capacity, and performance while implementing performance tuning recommendations.
- Recommend and implement infrastructure upgrades and technology improvements.
- Administer Microsoft IIS web servers and web-based applications.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, identity management, and cloud platform services.
- Deploy, configure, and manage AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Support Azure DevOps including project administration, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and organizational settings.
- Assist development teams by provisioning infrastructure and hosting application environments.
- Configure and maintain networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, Samba/CIFS, and NTFS permissions.
- Support middleware technologies including API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and enterprise batch services.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, networking, and cloud-related issues.
- Document system configurations, automate administrative tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in architecture discussions and recommend innovative cloud and infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application development, networking, and business teams.
- Provide production support and resolve medium-to-high complexity technical issues.
- Perform additional infrastructure and cloud administration duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5–8 years of professional experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or Information Systems.
- 3–5 years of enterprise infrastructure operations, maintenance, and administration experience.
- 2–3 years administering:
- Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022
- Microsoft IIS
- TCP/IP networking
- DNS
- Samba/CIFS
- NTFS Permissions
- 2–3 years of hands-on AWS Cloud administration (Required).
- Experience administering Microsoft Azure cloud services (Highly Preferred).
- Experience supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud providers (Preferred).
- Experience supporting middleware technologies including API Management, automation platforms, and batch processing services (Preferred).
