Job Title: Advanced Systems Administrator
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL (On-Site)
Position Overview
We are seeking anAdvanced Systems Administratorto support and enhance a complex, multi-platform IT environment. This role will help oversee day-to-day operations and provide project-based support acrossserver infrastructure, cloud platforms, identity services, security hardening, and Microsoft 365 ecosystems. You will own medium-to-high complexity issues end-to-end, partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and drive improvements in performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting forWindows Server environments.
- Administer and supportIISand related web/application hosting components.
- Monitor systems and applications foravailability, performance, and security, and implement improvements.
- Coordinate server configuration and administration across multiple teams and third parties.
- Recommend and plan forserver/software upgrades, lifecycle management, and risk reduction.
- Implement and maintain network and system performance through monitoring, tuning, and root-cause analysis.
- Establish and maintain secure connectivity, includingfirewalls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities torefactor solutionsfor improved cost, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Support and enhancemulti-cloud services, with a strong focus onAWSand working knowledge ofAzure(plus other platforms as applicable).
- Create and manageAzure DevOps projects, including:
- Git repositories and branching strategies
- CI/CD pipelines
- Organization and project-level configuration settings
- Collaborate with and support other IT staff, including developers, to enable secure and reliable deployments.
- Document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or technical institute degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldor equivalent professional experience.
- Strong AWS cloud systems experience (2–3 years)in a production environment.
- Windows Server experience (2–3 years)supporting Server 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022.
- IIS administration experience (2–3 years).
- Solid networking fundamentals and hands-on experience with:
- TCP/IP, DNS
- Samba/CIFS file sharing
- NTFS permissions
- 5–8 yearsoverall experience in information systems engineering or related roles.
- 3–5 yearsexperience in infrastructure/network environments across operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues effectively across multiple technology platforms.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and follow strict confidentiality expectations.
Preferred / Highly Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure cloud systems experience (2–3 years).
- Experience with other cloud providers (e.g.,GCP).
- Strong experience administering Microsoft platforms and services (e.g., Microsoft 365 and related ecosystem).
- Experience supporting middleware such as:
- API Management platforms
- IT service automation tools
- Batch job services (3–5 years preferred)
- Strong Linux administration knowledge, includingRed Hat and Ubuntu, andLinux patching.
- Experience with identity platforms / access management concepts.

- Infrastructure and application architecture fundamentals
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and also effective in collaborative team environments.
