Job summary

Georgia State University’s CETLOE is seeking a Systems Administrator Associate to support the learning environment, assist with tool implementations and upgrades, and create resources that help instructors and students use learning systems effectively.

You will manage daily operations of learning systems, ensure availability, test changes, prepare documentation, deliver trainings, and collaborate with multiple teams on projects like integrations and system upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in computer science or similar field; Masters preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of learning systems.
  • Ensure learning systems are functioning and available to customers.
  • Advise management on policies and procedures for the use of learning systems.
  • Use organizationally supported productivity tools to facilitate triage, tracking, management, reporting, and resolution of issues (i.e. Incident Management).
  • Analyzes system issues and makes recommendations on resolutions.
  • Follow established change management policies and practices.
  • Ensure systems testing and user acceptance testing is completed.
  • Communicate changes to learning systems to appropriate management.
  • Create system documentation.
  • Assist various other teams with development of end user resources.
  • Deliver system trainings.
  • Provide support for projects such as new system implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Advise management on the creation of project plans.
  • Serve as a resource on projects.
  • Provide project status updates to management.
  • Create draft communication plans.
  • Respond timely to requests for information.
  • Advise the Assistant Director on trends and research related to new learning technologies.
  • Engage with the higher education community and business partners.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and strategies.
  • Attend and present at professional conferences, webinars, and workshops.
  • Plan and engage with the larger CETLOE on research and grant opportunities.
  • Read professional books, articles, newsfeeds, and blogs.
  • Share new findings with colleagues and stakeholders.

Description

The Learning System Administrator, Associate, supports the applications that make up the University’s teaching and learning environment. As an associate, the Learning System Administrator is responsible for direct student and instructor support of digital learning tools. The associate conducts system testing and may assist with new tool implementations and system upgrades and helps create resources that support the use of learning systems
