Job summary

Peraton is seeking an entry level Systems Administrator (Shift 2) to join our national intelligence program in Herndon, VA. The role covers 24x7 operations, providing end-user support and basic system administration across Windows and Linux environments.

Candidates should hold TS/SCI clearance with poly readiness, be able to meet DoD 8570 IAT requirements, and communicate effectively with clients and teammates in a high-stakes setting. This is a contingent position pending contract award.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a poly.
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT I or II certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user technical support to all clients.
• Support computers and network equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform basic system administrator tasks such as user creation and password resets.
• Escalate issues per SLAs and maintain logs and diagrams.
• Assist in testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking an entry level Systems Administrator (Shift 2) to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions.

This position performs Shift work to cover the 24X7 Operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user technical support to all clients.
• Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.
• Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors as assigned.
• Perform basic system administrator functions such as network user creation and password resets.
• Escalate issues quickly and efficiently in accordance with Technical Impact Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain network diagrams and circuit records, maintain trouble logs, and instruct users in the use of computers.
• Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
• Perform basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.
• Maintain equipment, systems, and conduct testing and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot to proactively resolve issues and their root causes and respond to technical requests for support.
• Assess ongoing user experience and take action to resolve issues or to make enhancements.
• Support the development, implementation and maintenance processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
• Demonstrate and maintain strong customer service skills.
• Serve as the back up to the Infrastructure Service Lead as necessary.
• Position is Contingent on Contract Award

Basic Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a Poly clearance.
• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA, Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA, Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
• Additional 4 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, other co-workers, and management.
• Detail oriented.
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS.
• Ability to learn new processes, systems, and technologies, as assigned.
• Current CISSP or Security + Certification.
• Be able to perform as a back up lead as necessary.

Desired Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT I or DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification.
• Network Experience: Cisco Packet Tracer or similar.

Security Clearance

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
