Client is seeking a Principal Linux / Windows Systems Administrator to join its Classified Solutions team in Linthicum, MD. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment alongside engineers and program managers to support and realize our technologies. The position is on-site at our Linthicum, MD campus; it is not a remote opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Administer Linux / Redhat systems for a classified government contract.
- Administer Windows systems for a classified government contract.
- Maintain operations of all computer infrastructure in a multi-user environment, coordinating with various engineering and security teams.
- Analyze customer requirements and determine software and hardware solutions.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
- Provide backup, recovery, and security services, including virus and malware protection.
- Create and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Test new product releases for compatibility and minimal user impact.
- Develop and document technical processes and procedures.
- Make hardware and software purchase recommendations.
- Interact with vendors for troubleshooting and evaluations.
- Adhere to strict security guidelines, including deploying STIGs and developing POA&Ms for vulnerabilities.
- Understand and apply RMF & DoD JSIG standards for vulnerability and risk mitigation.
- Maintain security logs and prepare security documentation.
- Report on project status as required.
- Work independently to develop solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree requirements vary from High School Diploma with experience to Master's degree with relevant experience.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ CE) certification or higher.
- Experience managing Red Hat Linux and Windows Server OS in classified environments.
- Knowledge of DoD STIGs, POA&Ms, and security standards.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher), with recent clearance or enrollment in CE program.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs, including SAP/SAR clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in IT, Security+, Linux+, RHCSA, MCSE, or similar certifications.
- Experience with Solaris OS, NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, JSIG environments.
- Experience installing and maintaining hardware, networking (Cisco), LDAP, SAN, VMware, scripting, and system imaging.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS, Solar Winds, Splunk).
- DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS and active Top Secret clearance.
