Job summary

ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to support, troubleshoot, and execute cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure initiatives in Tallahassee, Florida, on-site. The role spans AWS, Azure, and GCP, focusing on high availability, security, and performance across modern infrastructure and pipelines.

Candidates must reside in Tallahassee or relocate at their own expense, and report to the office 5 days a week. In-person interviews are required at Tallahassee, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5–8 years of professional information systems engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of AWS cloud systems experience required.
• 3–5 years in infrastructure/network environments with operations and support.
• 2–3 years of Windows Server 2012–2022 experience.
• 2–3 years of IIS Administration experience.
• 2–3 years of networking including TCP/IP and DNS; file sharing and NTFS permissions.
• 2–3 years of Microsoft Azure cloud systems are highly desired.
• 2–3 years of GCP or other cloud providers are highly desired.
• 2–3 years of admin experience with Microsoft software and Linux OS is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Support and expand the infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.
• Coordinate server configuration with multiple parties and contractors.
• Recommend future server and software upgrades.
• Monitor systems for security, availability, and performance.
• Evaluate network performance issues and plan installations, configurations, and testing.
• Maintain performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, and vendor escalation.
• Build relationships in a matrixed environment and refactor solutions for cost efficiency.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and pipelines; configure organizational settings.
• Assist with building and hosting complex application solutions; manage cloud deployments.
• Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Azure, and other cloud services; support IT staff.

ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting, troubleshooting, and executing cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure initiatives in Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite Role).

This role works across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern infrastructure, and developer pipelines to ensure high availability, security, and peak system performance.

Please Note: Candidates must reside in (or relocate at their own expense to) Tallahassee or the surrounding area. This position requires reporting to the office 5 days a week and Mode of interview: in-person / Face to Face at Tallahassee, FL only.

Responsibilities

• Support and expand the infrastructure.
• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC and contractors).
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
• Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
• Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
• Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
• Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
• Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
• Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
• Support other IT staff, including developers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field Or equivalent work experience.
• 5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
• 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
• 3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
• 2 – 3 years of experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• 2 – 3 years of IIS Administration.
• 2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
• 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
• 2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
• 2 – 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software, Linux OS is highly desired.
• 3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
