Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University Libraries seeks applications for the position of Systematic Review Librarian, a 48-week tenure-line faculty role reporting to the Associate Director of HHSL. You will manage the Systematic Review Service and conduct advanced information synthesis with researchers from Penn State College of Medicine and Hershey Medical Center.

As a reference provider and departmental liaison, you’ll support clinical departments, Nursing Education, and the Physician’s Assistant

Qualifications

• MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent/advanced degree in relevant disciplines.
• Experience in collaborative research and systematic review expert searcher training.
• Familiarity with PRISMA/JBI and systematic review software (Rayyan, Covidence, etc.).
• Experience as a liaison librarian providing instruction, reference, and research support.
• Strong knowledge of print and digital information resources.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead management of the Libraries Systematic Review Service.
• Serve as the primary librarian for advanced information synthesis projects in collaboration with Penn State College of Medicine researchers.
• Provide reference services and act as a faculty departmental liaison to clinical departments and nursing education.

Education

MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program

Graduate degree in library or information studies

Experience in collaborative research

Liaison librarian experience
