Qualifications

• Licensing: Current Respiratory Care License in the state of work.
• National NBRC credentialing required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required; NRP preferred.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred and demonstrated clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with procedures such as bronchoscopy, transtracheal catheter insertion, and invasive monitoring.
• Perform CPR per ACLS protocol and manage airway equipment and procedures.
• Set up, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilators and verify correct endotracheal tube placement and cuff pressures.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFT) and evaluate patient data to guide therapy.
• Administer prescribed therapies (IPPB, aerosol therapy, airway clearance techniques) and monitor patient response.
• Educate patients and families on inhalation therapies and home care instructions.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and arterial punctures as required.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and sterile technique; respond to cardio-pulmonary emergencies.

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Care
