Planet in San Francisco seeks a System Validation Tech Lead to own the end-to-end testbed buildup, maintenance, and tooling to validate software and firmware before deployment to satellites. You will drive uptime and prioritization, balancing stakeholder needs with technical goals.

You will work at the intersection of satellite operations and software engineering, defining priorities and delivering scalable testbed improvements in collaboration with the Space Operations team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 4–6 years of testbed or network engineering experience.
• Experience with Bash, Python or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with Linux or UNIX servers, IP networks, and Docker.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical abilities with data-driven decisions.
• Customer-centric mindset and ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Define and execute the roadmap for building and maintaining testbeds.
• Engage stakeholders, prioritize feature requests, and allocate resources.
• Design and develop tooling to help test software and firmware updates.
• Manage testbed hardware and software configurations and uptime.
• Triaging testbed anomalies to maximize availability with SME support.
