Job summary

Ayar Labs in San Jose, CA is seeking a Validation Engineer to lead validation of silicon photonic and laser products, ensuring they meet component and system requirements and perform well in real-world deployment.

You will develop test software, collaborate with Design Engineering, analyze data, and help bring up devices for customer-ready performance, with emphasis on high-speed SerDes and photonics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience with component and system test equipment (BERT, DCA, OSA) and signal quality metrics.
• 1+ years of Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and PCIe standards.
• Experience with SoC validation planning, bring-up, debugging, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Validation Strategy Execution: implement validation methodologies for component and system requirements.
• Drive Product Bring-up: collaborate with Design Engineering to bring up silicon photonic and laser products.
• Validate Component and System Performance: perform electrical and optical characterization of VLSI and optoelectronic systems.
• Make Critical Decisions: work with cross-functional teams on design trade-offs and timelines.
• Develop Test Software and Infrastructure: create scripts and test hardware stations for validation.
