Job summary

Viasat is seeking a System Test Engineer to join the Government team in the United States. You will develop test plans, execute manual and automated tests, and support system test campaigns for satellite modem products with a focus on functional, performance, robustness, and OTA testing.

The role requires 5+ years of test experience, a Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering, Linux know-how, and comfort with networking. A US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in crafting test requirements, test plans, test cases and methodologies, and test documentation for manufacturing that guides system development.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with networking, OSI model, and L2/L3 technologies like MAC and TCP/IP, UDP, etc.
• Experience with debugging and fixing Linux-based products.
• US citizenship required.
• Up to 10% travel.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• This role can work out of the Carlsbad, CA, Germantown, MD or Reston, VA office
• Must be able to come into the office 3 days a week; hybrid

Responsibilities

• Prepare test plans, procedures, and customer needs to guide test hardware and automation.
• Shepherd test system deployment from integration to operations.
• Run manual and automated tests against software releases and debug test setups.
• Collaborate with engineering and software teams on test planning and execution.
