Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with unit testing and integration testing.
  • 5+ years of experience with SSRS or Power BI.
  • 5+ years of experience with COTS and MOTS applications.
  • 5+ years of law enforcement IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL database programming and architecture, including query optimization.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Successful completion of required screenings including criminal record checks, credit report, drug screening, and professional references.
  • Current South Carolina residency with no relocation allowed.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The System Software Programmer - Project Lead is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of custom software applications primarily using .NET technologies. This hybrid role requires expertise in web application development, data transport methods, and reporting tools, with a focus on supporting law enforcement IT systems. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize software solutions while ensuring compliance with security and screening requirements.

  • 5+ years of experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Modified Off-The-Shelf (MOTS) applications.
  • 5+ years of law enforcement IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL database programming and architecture, including query optimization.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Successful completion of required screenings including criminal record checks, credit report, drug screening, and professional references.
  • Current South Carolina residency with no relocation allowed.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience developing AI agents or tools.
  • Development experience using Office 5 6 7 tools such as SharePoint, Power BI, and Power Apps.
  • Experience with GitHub and/or DevOps methodologies.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and workflow improvements.
  • Experience developing test scripts.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills across various channels and audiences.
Special Considerations:
  • Must pass multiple pre-employment screenings including South Carolina SLED criminal check, credit report, drug screening, education verification, and professional references.
  • Candidate must be a current resident of South Carolina; no relocation assistance provided.
  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring two days onsite per week at Columbia, South Carolina location.
  • Work may involve supporting users at multiple sites, requiring flexibility for remote and onsite technical support.
Scheduling:
  • Full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Standard business hours with a hybrid schedule: two days onsite and remaining days remote.
  • Contract duration of 6 months with possibility for extension.
