System Software Engineer — Embedded Linux & HW Co-Design

Job summary

Tensordyne seeks a Platform Software Engineer to join the Platform Software team to lead requirements gathering, design, and development of system-level services, tools, and supporting tests for Tensordyne's AI inference platform software.

You will work closely with hardware, silicon, and validation teams on firmware, BSP development, device drivers, and Linux kernel modules, collaborating across teams to deliver robust software and perform optimization for production deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing low-level systems and embedded software, firmware, and tooling for high-performance computing systems deployed to data center customers.
• Hands-on experience bringing up and debugging complex Linux-based systems at the kernel and driver level, including embedded Linux, device drivers, and RTOS environments; SoC bring-up desirable.
• Expert programming in C and C++, with proficiency in Python, Bash/Shell; Rust a plus. Comfortable interfacing with hardware and debugging with JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work across hardware, silicon, and software teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent technical communication skills; BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of system-level services, tools, and tests for the AI inference platform software.
• Debug, profile, and analyze platform software; support cross-functional engineering teams in bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate with hardware, silicon, and validation teams to deliver robust firmware, BSP, drivers, and Linux kernel modules.
• Work on hardware interfaces and power/performance optimization across PCIe, I2C, SPI, and JTAG.
• Occasional travel to partner, customer, or contract manufacturer sites may be required.
