Job summary

Optomi in partnership with a leading energy provider seeks a Video Management Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise video surveillance across multiple locations. Hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC; 12-month contract.

You will administer, configure, and troubleshoot VMS systems, primarily Avigilon Control Center, and support IP cameras, NVRs, and storage. Collaboration with IT and security teams is essential for reliable operations.

Are you experienced with Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, or other enterprise video management systems? Looking for an opportunity to take ownership of the technology that keeps large-scale security operations running?

Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy provider, is seeking a Video Management Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise video surveillance infrastructure across multiple corporate locations.

This is a hands‑on technical role focused on the software, servers, networking, and storage systems behind enterprise security cameras. We're looking for someone who understands how these systems work together and can troubleshoot, configure, and maintain them to ensure reliable performance.

• Location: Charlotte, NC
• Schedule: Hybrid, Tuesday–Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote
• Contract: 12 months

What You’ll Be Doing

• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Video Management Systems (VMS), primarily Avigilon Control Center (ACC 7/8).
• Support Avigilon and Axis IP security cameras, ensuring reliable connectivity, recording, and performance.
• Maintain Network Video Recorders (NVRs), recording servers, storage configurations, and video retention systems.
• Troubleshoot camera outages, recording failures, network connectivity issues, and server‑related problems.
• Manage user permissions and security access through Active Directory.
• Support integrations between VMS platforms, access control systems, alarms, and other physical security technologies.
• Work with networking technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE switches, and LAN/WAN environments.
• Document system configurations, deployments, upgrades, troubleshooting procedures, and ongoing maintenance.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands‑on experience supporting or administering enterprise Video Management Systems (VMS).
• Experience with platforms such as Avigilon ACC, Genetec, Milestone, exacqVision, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of IP camera configuration, video recording infrastructure, and surveillance system troubleshooting.
• Experience working with NVRs, recording servers, storage systems, or related backend infrastructure.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, IP addressing, VLANs, and switches.
• Familiarity with Windows environments, Active Directory, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to maintain technical documentation and collaborate with IT, networking, and physical security teams.
