Job summary

Mach Industries seeks a System Reliability Engineer Program Manager to own the end-to-end reliability program for its autonomous defense platforms, interacting with Systems, Design, Avionics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Field teams at the Huntington Beach site.

You will set reliability targets, drive risk assessments, and translate field and test data into corrective actions, communicating residual risk and mitigations to program leadership under schedule pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in systems, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, reliability engineering, or equivalent.
• Ten+ years in system reliability, hardware reliability, failure analysis, test engineering, or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience applying reliability block diagrams, FMEA/FMECA, fault-tree analysis, root-cause analysis.
• Experience allocating reliability requirements to components and integrating evidence at system level.
• Experience defining targeted tests and mitigations from incomplete data or field evidence.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical work and explain tradeoffs to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the system reliability program across architecture, design, integration, qualification, production, and field operation.
• Define reliability objectives, allocations, assumptions, and evidence requirements for mechanical, electrical, software, and propulsion subsystems.
• Maintain reliability block diagrams, FMECA, fault trees, interface-risk assessments, and single-point-failure analyses.
• Integrate supplier reliability assessments into system-level risk and mitigation decisions.
• Define targeted qualification, environmental, screening, accelerated-life, and integrated tests.
• Lead system-level failure investigations using teardown and field data.
• Establish and maintain failure-reporting and corrective-action workflows linked to design changes.
• Communicate residual risk and mitigations to leadership under schedule pressure.
• Provide systems-level alignment across commodity engineers responsible for component reliability.
• Up to 50% travel
