Job summary

Williams is seeking a Manager of System Planning to lead a team focused on hydraulic modeling, capacity analysis, and optimization for gas and liquids pipelines. The role emphasizes policy development, modeling standards, and cross-functional collaboration with control, operations, and projects.

You will drive safe, reliable system planning and support expansion initiatives, mentoring staff and shaping planning methodologies across Williams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in pipeline hydraulic modeling.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and fifteen (15) years’ experience in pipeline hydraulic modeling and PE license.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.

Responsibilities

• Performs hydraulic modeling on natural gas and liquids pipeline systems using steady-state and transient simulations to evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities
• Works closely with internal partners to scope facilities required for expansion projects
• Collaborates with pipeline control, operations, and commercial functions to identify hydraulic impacts and help plan outages on the system
• Develops new application tools, facilitates improvements in design modeling philosophies, and provides training and support to enhance the organization's capabilities as it relates to hydraulic modeling
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides technical mentoring to direct reports in their team
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of pipeline operations, system requirements, and the interstate transmission project development process
• Other duties as assigned
