Job summary

MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions in Seattle is seeking a System Optimization Department Manager to lead the department responsible for quality-control, commissioning, system optimization specialists, and field engineering for New Construction and Energy & Sustainable Solutions.

You will drive departmental performance, mentor engineers, manage budgets, and collaborate with executive leadership to deliver high-performing mechanical systems on time across Washington state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of project management or operational leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including VRF systems and central plants.
• Experience with building management and automation systems (BMS) interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical systems team.
• Set goals, budgets, and drive QA/QC standards across projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with Engineering, Estimating, Sales, Controls and Service.
• Own safety, compliance, and on-time project delivery.
