Job summary

Peoples Gas Light & Coke Co, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks an Engineering Supervisor in Chicago, IL to lead a team of engineers on complex projects. You will guide planning, design, and execution while ensuring cost control and timely delivery, with emphasis on gas distribution and transmission systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 5+ years’ experience with gas systems, plus proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a valid Driver’s License.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years' standard computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• 5+ years’ relevant experience with gas distribution and/or transmission system design, planning, and cost estimating.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Preferred: 5+ years'experience being responsible for the completion or management of tasks as part of a project.
• 5+ years' experience with codes (Title 49 CFR 192, PSC 135, API, ASTM, MSS, etc.).
• 5+ years' experience with gas operations, transmission line construction processes, and/or distribution system processes.
• 5+ years' experience with GIS, SynerGee Gas or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Technical responsibility for planning, developing, interpreting, organizing, coordinating and executing complex engineering projects.
• Lead projects with forecasting, cost control, and timely completion.
• Plan work activity schedules, resource allocation, prioritization of activities, etc.
• Develop scope of work, design criteria and selection of outside service providers.
• Oversee engineering design, approve construction and material specs, monitor budgets and contractor work.
