Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem seeks a System Medical Director of Endoscopy to provide visionary clinical and administrative leadership across Endeavor Health endoscopy services. The role partners with GI leadership to advance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency across the system.

The position requires Board certification/eligibility in Endoscopic Medicine, Illinois medical licensure, and a strong track record in clinical leadership and program development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited and recognized medical school required.
• Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
• Board certification/Board eligible in Endoscopic Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical services provided to patients by endoscopists.
• Provide input and support to lab leadership regarding clinical nursing and tech practice.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with medical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive initiatives to standardize clinical practice and reduce variability across Endeavor Health endoscopy sites.
• Collaborate with Gastroenterology leadership to craft system-wide endoscopy strategy including facilities planning and programming.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Support credentialing and privileging processes for physicians performing endoscopy.
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor to staff physicians, fellows, nurses, and technicians.
• Define patient experience standards for endoscopic services in Endeavor Health.
