Job summary

South Jersey Industries in partnership with Elizabethtown Gas offers a Summer System Integrity Engineering Intern role. You will assist managers and engineers on diverse projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, testing, project management, and system integrity while shadowing operations.

The 11-week program includes mentorship, seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization, with a hybrid work environment and paths to future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Mechanical or Civil Engineering, junior/senior or master's level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD preferred.
• Python or another programming language experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to evaluate complex information.
• Ability to collaborate and assist co-workers as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Support managers and engineers on major project tasks.
• Perform calculations, analyses and research on upcoming department projects.
• Create basic engineering schematics using design software.
• Support integrity management programs through data gathering and analysis.
• Assist in drafting, finalizing and implementing new technical reports and process improvements.
• Collaborate on a cross-functional project to present to SJI leadership.
