Job summary

Resourcing HQ seeks a Systems Integration Engineer - Lead to drive interoperability across clinical and business systems. You will develop, test, and maintain integration solutions using Corepoint, Epic Bridges, and GoAnywhere MFT, integrating HL7, XML, and other data formats.

Texas residency is required with quarterly onsite travel. The role demands strong technical abilities, experience with clinical and health plan interfaces, and the capacity to design robust data interchange solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years in a Health Care environment preferred.
• Minimum 5 years developing and maintaining interface builds using Corepoint or similar engine.
• At least 5 years’ experience with Epic Bridges interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design system specifications and modify system builds.
• Perform data mapping and establish interfaces between systems.
• Develop and modify code, functions, programs, and routines; troubleshoot and debug interfaces.
• Provide consulting to application teams and vendors on IT integrations for clinical and business processes.

Job Summary

The Systems Integration Engineer - Lead is an information technology professional who provides programming and technical development of integrated solutions and delivers high-quality interoperability solutions that support the organization’s current and future clinical and business operations by developing, innovating, testing, maintaining, installing and debugging integration/interface solutions, middleware tools, and related technologies. He/she/they are responsible for integration among Epic Bridges, an interface engine (Corepoint), automated managed file transfer (GoAnywhere MFT) software, and other tools as needed. Interfaces include but are not limited to: laboratory, radiology, immunization registry, billing, pharmacy, dental, HIEs, and our Health Plan. This role requires strong technical ability.

Key Responsibilities

The following are key responsibilities of an integration engineer: analyzing and designing system specifications; modifying system build; data mapping; establishing interfaces; developing and modifying code, functions, programs, and routines; resolving and escalating integration issues; providing consulting services to application teams, vendors, and/or customers regarding how to integrate information technologies into clinical and business processes; designing and evaluating new data interchange formats; improving physical design; and documenting data policy, standards, and procedures.

Skills sets for an integration engineer

include interface administration, web services (REST/SOAP), HL7, FHIR, CCDA, XML, EDI, FTP, TCP/IP, API, Microsoft SQL, etc. to accomplish these goals.

Education & Experience

A BA/BS degree is required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health Care environment preferred.

Minimum 5 years’ experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting and debugging interface build using Corepoint interface engine (preferred) or alternate interface engine.

At least 5 years’ experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting and debugging Epic Bridges interfaces

Expert knowledge in two or more integration/interoperability areas, such as HL7, XML, X12, FTP, TCP/IP, API, web calls, managed file transfer, Epic CareEverywhere, Epic Interconnect, MS SQL.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Epic certification(s) required within 6 months from date of hire, allowing for two test retakes.

Other industry relevant certification(s) a plus.

Knowledge and Experience

Ability to analyze and design complex and multi-service business and clinical technical healthcare systems.

Understanding of at least 1 but preferably multiple clinical or business areas to include: Beaker (lab), Willow [Amb] (pharmacy), Healthy Planet/Tapestry (health plan), ERP, OnBase, Patient Access, Ambulatory, Inpatient, Epic Security, Data Courier, Immunization Administration.

The ability to create, discuss, and present systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.

Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
