Job summary

RedStream Technology is seeking two Field Systems Integration Engineers to support a large-scale, on-premises 911/public safety deployment in the Greater Houston area. This hands-on role covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of complex infrastructure across multiple customer locations.

Expect a strong focus on networking, with exposure to virtualization, VoIP, databases, and secure communications.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and network troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of servers, virtualization, and virtual machines.
• Understanding of SIP, VoIP, and IP-based telephony.
• Experience troubleshooting integrated infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or comparable relational database environments.
• Understanding of TLS, certificates, and basic PKI concepts.
• Ability to work effectively from architecture and engineering documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a structured customer-facing environment.
• Comfortable working primarily on-site and potentially across multiple customer locations in the Greater Houston area.

Responsibilities

• Support the on-site integration and deployment of complex 911/public safety infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 networking issues using tools such as nmap, ping, tcpdump, and similar utilities.
• Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of network switches and related infrastructure.
• Support virtualized server environments, including hypervisor functions and virtual machines
• Troubleshoot SIP and VoIP telephony environments, including basic call-flow and connectivity issues.
• Perform basic PostgreSQL troubleshooting and execute database commands as needed.
• Support server and hardware infrastructure utilizing HPE OneView and iLO.
• Troubleshoot TLS certificates, PKI, and related secure communications issues.
• Work within established software deployment and CI/CD processes.
• Follow technical direction and implementation plans established by solution architects.
• Coordinate activities through project management and communicate clearly with technical teams and customer stakeholders.
• Document issues, resolutions, configurations, and deployment activities.
• Support multiple installation phases as equipment and systems are delivered and brought online.

Field Systems Integration Engineer – 911/Public Safety Infrastructure

Harris County / Houston, TX –On-Site

6-Month Contract Role

We are seeking two Field Systems Integration Engineers to support a large-scale, on-premises 911/public safety technology deployment in the Greater Houston/Harris County area.

This is a hands-on integration role supporting the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of a complex infrastructure environment across multiple systems and customer locations.

The role is heavily focused on networking and systems troubleshooting, with additional exposure to virtualization, VoIP/telephony, databases, server infrastructure, security certificates, and software deployment processes.

The Systems Integration Engineer will work closely with solution architects, project management, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to execute deployment activities and resolve technical issues as equipment and systems are brought online.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Systems or Networking certifications
• Patroni/PostgreSQL high-availability knowledge.
• Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline experience.
• HPE OneView/iLO experience.
• Experience with Aruba and/or Cisco networking environments.
• Previous experience supporting 911, public safety, telecommunications, or other mission-critical infrastructure.

Additional Information:

• This position is expected to be primarily on-site in the Greater Houston/Harris County area. Local candidates are preferred.
• Candidates traveling from outside the area may be considered, with travel and related expenses reimbursed.
• The initial engagement is expected to run approximately six months, with the potential for extension.
• Overtime may be required during key deployment and integration periods.
