Job summary

UNC Health seeks an accomplished physician leader to serve as System Executive Director of the Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Network. The role drives statewide growth, clinical excellence, and access to advanced therapies across UNC Health and affiliated programs.

The position includes an academic appointment within the Division of Cardiology and a secondary administrative leadership role with an associated supplement. MD board certification and leadership experience are key requirements.

Qualifications

• MD required.
• Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease preferred.
• Advanced training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
• Demonstrated leadership within a major Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD, and/or Heart Transplant program.
• Experience with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Academic accomplishments consistent with Associate Professor or Professor level.
• Proven track record in clinical research and program development.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for growth, integration, and advancement of a statewide advanced heart failure network.
• Foster alignment across academic and community programs and strengthen referral pathways.
• Expand access to advanced heart failure therapies and support patient care, research, and education missions.
• Lead efforts to develop and implement a shared vision for network growth and clinical excellence.
