Job summary

Peraton is seeking a System Engineer to provide data management support and lead systems engineering activities. The ideal candidate will analyze user requirements, develop specifications, and manage system documentation.

About The Role

System Engineer

Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develop technical documentation. Develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and related issues. Assume responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables in the Systems Engineering domain. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

The System Engineer shall have the ability to:

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with the defined architecture (e.g., DoDAF, SOA).
• Contribute to the development of System Engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
• Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
• Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• IAT Level 1 8570 Compliant Certification is Required.
• Possession of an IAT Level 1 8570 certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.
• TS/SCI with full scope polygraph is required.

• Provide support for Atlassian tool suite including: Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope, responsibilities, experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may apply.
