The role involves steering system life-cycle activities across ISO/IEC 15288 domains, coordinating with Government stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, and ensuring technical integrity across projects. Candidates must meet stringent clearance requirements and have extensive experience in government systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 15 years of systems engineering experience, or equivalent substitutions.
  • Master’s degree plus 13 years of experience, or PhD plus 13 years of experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 19 years of systems engineering experience as alternative.
  • Experience with ISO/IEC 15288 processes and government project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of work products in ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
  • Develop and deliver work products across project and enterprise process areas.
  • Lead or supervise contractor engineers and technicians on projects.
  • Analyze and propose engineering standards and processes for projects.
  • Brief stakeholders and present status on technical aspects of projects.

Salary Range: **$204,100 to $219,000 per year

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: A System Engineer drives clarity and rigor across the entire system life cycle—from concept and development through production, utilization, support, and retirement. They work directly with Government stakeholders to address technical challenges, resolve issues, and keep communication seamless across teams and leadership. With responsibility for ensuring the technical integrity and completeness of all work, they operate across the full ISO/IEC 15288 framework, shaping requirements, architecture, integration, verification, planning, risk, configuration, quality, portfolio management, and acquisition activities. This role places you at the center of mission‑critical engineering—where your expertise powers systems that perform, endure, and deliver meaningful impact.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to beU.S. Citizensandpossess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
  • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of either the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
  • Independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical design.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in each of the ISO/IEC 15288 Project and Technical Process Areas.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
  • Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.
  • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
  • Approve delivery of work products of multiple Processes Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.OR
  • A High School Diploma or GED and nineteen (19) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.OR
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.OR
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
