WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer, Level 2 at Fort Meade, MD. The role applies disciplined systems engineering across the full lifecycle, collaborating with Government stakeholders to ensure mission needs are met and engineering work is aligned with standards.

The responsibilities include requirements definition, architecture, implementation, verification, validation, risk and configuration management, and program integration under ISO/IEC 15288 processes. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field plus four years of systems engineering experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with four years of general systems engineering experience (any process area).
  • Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • PhD may substitute for three years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering activities in ISO/IEC 15288 process areas.
  • Assist in preparing work products across ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
  • Analyze technical alternatives and make preliminary recommendations.

Salary Range: **$149,300 to $164,300 per year

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: A System Engineer applies disciplined systems engineering across the full lifecycle—from concept and development through production, utilization, support, and retirement—ensuring every phase is technically sound and aligned with mission needs. They collaborate with Government stakeholders to resolve technical concerns, maintain clear communication across program teams and senior leaders, and safeguard the integrity and quality of all engineering work. Their responsibilities span the comprehensive ISO/IEC 15288 process areas, including requirements definition, architecture, implementation, integration, verification, validation, planning, risk and configuration management, portfolio management, and acquisition/supply. Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to beU.S. Citizensandpossess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
  • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related disciplinefrom an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.OR
  • A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.OR
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience.OR
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.
