Job summary

Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. seeks a System Engineer - Journeyman to support the 50th Space Communications Squadron at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.

The role demands DoD infrastructure expertise, architectural thinking, and strong documentation to deliver secure, reliable communications. Responsibilities include system integration, design support for MOAs/MOUs/LOAs, and coordination of upgrades and configurations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in DoD environments.
  • Experience with DoD systems infrastructure, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate CNI core competencies into daily functions with integrity and accountability.
  • Develop, design and implement site support for communications systems at Schriever AFB.
  • Provide design support for MOAs/MOUs/LOAs and SLAs affecting communications.
  • Coordinate installation, upgrade and change/configuration procedures with stakeholders.

SUMMARY

The System Engineer - Journeyman provides support for the 50th Space Communications Squadron at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the Top Secret/SCI level, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affimate Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken. Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) both for themselves, their employees, and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they and their employees will report any violations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract. Determines technical solutions for NIPR, SIPR, Telephones and Red Switch systems. Solutions require specifications of electronic equipment, physical hardware, copper and fiber optic connectivity as well as develop, design, and implement site support. Provides problem analysis, technical assessments and identify potential operational impacts to the 50 SCS Government personnel. Ensures that all designed and developed technical solutions integrate with local, Air Force, and DoD architectures. Identifies, documents and digitally stores architectural and infrastructure changes as they occur. Interfaces with and supports other contractors and government agencies on daily basis. Provides Monthly Activity Reports (MAR) to the COR and Government Program Manager and maintain the records IAW records management procedures. Prepares, reviews, updates and delivers written procedures for the Government work center. Provides design support, on behalf of the 50 SCS, for all Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Letters of Agreement (LOAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) requiring communications capability pertaining to Schriever AFB circuits. Provides designs that include system initialization, IT device configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, security, network protocols and network encryption. Complies with 50 SCS established change/configuration procedures. Provides implementation engineering, coordination, upgrade, and solution installation support. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred, and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience with the development, design, and implementation of enterprise systems. Experience with DoD systems infrastructure, including configuration and troubleshooting. Experience providing technical solutions. Strong documentation and communication skills. Five (5) years’ of experience in DoD environment
