Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a System Engineer IV to support nationwide 5G infrastructure deployments. The position focuses on production environments and requires 5+ years of telecom experience, strong knowledge of 5G technologies, and hands-on experience with Linux and cloud technologies. Qualifications

• Execute deployments, upgrades, and release management for 5G infrastructure across RAN and Core networks.
• Manage and support production systems ensuring stability, performance, and reliability.
• Develop and leverage Python scripts for automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Skills

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a System Engineer IV Engineer to support nationwide 5G infrastructure deployments and platform modernization initiatives. This role is heavily focused on production environments and centers around release management, system upgrades, and implementation across both RAN and Core networks. The ideal candidate brings a strong telecom background combined with cloud and platform engineering experience, particularly across Linux, AWS, and OpenShift environments.

What type of experience the right candidate has:

• 5+ years of experience in telecom, wireless engineering, or systems or platform engineering
• Strong knowledge of 5G technologies including RAN and Core
• Experience working in production environments including deployments, upgrades, and on call support
• Hands on experience with Linux systems including server management, logs, and performance monitoring
• Exposure to cloud and platform technologies such as AWS or OpenShift
• Experience with Python or scripting for automation, log parsing, or system health checks
• Ability to work in fast paced, high availability environments with on call responsibilities
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, or automation frameworks is a plus
• Exposure to Nokia infrastructure or tower deployments is a plus

What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:

• Execute deployments, upgrades, and release management for 5G infrastructure across RAN and Core networks
• Support CAPEX driven initiatives including nationwide Nokia tower implementations
• Collaborate with planning and design teams to validate changes in lab environments before production release
• Manage and support production systems ensuring stability, performance, and reliability
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and implementation of new platform capabilities
• Utilize Linux systems for monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support
• Develop and leverage Python scripts for automation, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Participate in on call rotations to support after hours production needs
• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure successful delivery of network and platform initiatives
