Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a System Engineer IV to support nationwide 5G infrastructure deployments. The position focuses on production environments and requires 5+ years of telecom experience, strong knowledge of 5G technologies, and hands-on experience with Linux and cloud technologies. Candidates will enjoy hybrid flexibility and the opportunity for contract to hire, working on large scale deployments and enhancements across a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in telecom, wireless engineering, or systems or platform engineering.
• Strong knowledge of 5G technologies including RAN and Core.
• Experience working in production environments including deployments, upgrades, and on call support.

Responsibilities

• Execute deployments, upgrades, and release management for 5G infrastructure across RAN and Core networks.
• Manage and support production systems ensuring stability, performance, and reliability.
• Develop and leverage Python scripts for automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Skills

5+ years of experience in telecom

Strong knowledge of 5G technologies

Experience with Linux systems

Exposure to AWS or OpenShift

Familiarity with Python or scripting

Ability to work in high availability environments
