Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a systems engineer to support the New Glenn program, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. You will coordinate across subsystems, applying rigorous systems engineering practices to drive design decisions and ensure traceability of requirements and verifications.

Collaborating with multi‑discipline teams, you will help develop SE processes, participate in gated reviews, and build health metrics to monitor program health and delivery.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial engineering.
  • 2+ years applying system engineering principles across design lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle design and requirements preferred.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical hardware qualification preferred.
  • System development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware.
  • Advanced systems engineering practices preferred.
  • Experience with verification planning preferred.
  • Experience with DOORS Next Gen preferred.

Job description

Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial engineering, or a similar technical field
  • 2+ years of experience with system engineering principles and processes throughout various phases of the design lifecycle
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and diagrams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced degree in Engineering disciplines, particularly mechanical, aerospace and materials (preferred)
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle design and requirements (preferred)
  • Experience with qualification of electro‑mechanical hardware (preferred)
  • System development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware (preferred)
  • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices (preferred)
  • Experience with verification planning (preferred)
  • Advanced experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS Next Gen (preferred)

Demonstrates expertise in systems engineering practices, including requirements definition, validation, and verification, while effectively collaborating with multi‑discipline teams to support the development of aerospace systems. Proficient in utilizing systems engineering tools and methodologies to ensure program health and consistent implementation across subsystems.
