Job summary

Supermicro, based in San Jose, is seeking a System Engineer to lead the technical collateral development of in-house multi-node server system products and to define and implement the latest data center and storage technologies. You will create proof of concepts and technical feature papers for industry events, and serve as a subject matter expert for benchmarks in networking, storage, and virtualization.

The role involves working with product managers and engineers through the product lifecycle,

Qualifications

Experience with enterprise storage benchmarks.
Ability to define benchmarks using Vdbench, FIO.
Knowledge of data center technologies and server hardware.

Responsibilities

Work with product managers, system engineers and production to manage the product life cycle (from design to EOL phase).
Define and develop application benchmarks based on enterprise storage requirements and generic server architecture (Vdbench, FIO, RDMA, NVMe).
Execute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on latest data center technologies and Supermicro server products.
Apply components knowledge such as CPU, DRAM, flash-based storage, and motherboard to develop embedded system products and solutions.
Research new technologies and propose new Proof of Concepts.
Collaborate with sales/FAE and customers to provide optimal solution and technical support.
