Job summary

RennerBrown is seeking a Systems Engineer to architect, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot highly available and secure technology services. The role requires deep expertise in Windows, cloud (Azure/AWS), virtualization, and storage, with a focus on performance, security, and automation.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a large professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, maintain and troubleshoot highly available and secure services.
• Engineering and operational support for Windows, cloud, storage, HA and replication.
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, GPO, and core services.
• Collaborate with IS Operations, Networking and InfoSec to optimize performance and security.
• Lead deployment of new or upgraded server-based software platforms.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Python).
• Participate in weekly 24/7 on-call rotation.

Job description

Monday through Friday; various shifts as assigned (additional hours as required; flexible schedules, weekends and after hours availability necessary at times). Two days a week in office, Three days remote

Position Summary

Systems Engineers are responsible for architecting, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting highly available and secure technology services and processes

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

• Engineering and operational support experience with Windows, Azure/AWS Cloud Compute/Storage, Zone HA / Replication (LRS/ZRS/GRS/RA-GRS), IAAS, PAAS, Cloud NAS, Cloud Cost Control Configuration, Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure with Virtualization, SAN (Dell/EMC Powerstore, or similar), HCI (Nutanix or similar), SRM/Zerto, NAS (Dell/EMC Isilon or similar)
• Administering and troubleshooting Windows Server 2019,2022, K8, RHEL, VMWare and Windows 10
• Configuring and troubleshooting core services including DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc
• Working closely with IS Operations and Networking to achieve optimal performance of supported technologies
• Working in tandem with InfoSec to secure all internally and externally facing systems
• Technical leadership of deployment of new, or upgrading existing, server-based software platforms
• Creating and maintaining scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and scheduled tasks to automate routine tasks and configurations
• Ability to perform triage troubleshooting for all systems as first point of contact with other IT groups
• Participation in periodic weekly 24/7 on-call rotation

Qualifications/Position Requirements

Very strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to create and maintain detailed system documentation. In addition, must be a creative thinker with proven problem-solving ability. Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative flat organization
