Job summary

Onyx Point, LLC. is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph clearance for complex DoD-aligned programs. The role focuses on system requirements, architecture, and end-to-end system engineering across hardware and software components.

Applicants should have 20+ years as a systems engineer in similar scope projects, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Remote/hybrid arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

• Shall have a minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with DoDAF/SOA architectures.
• Contribute to the development of SE documentation (SE Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specs, Interface Control Documents).
• Assist with development of system requirements and allocation to hardware/software components.
• Develop system-of-systems documentation (System Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, ICDs).
• Provide technical direction for development, integration and testing of components, including requirements elicitation and architecture development.

Job description

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI W/ FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE (U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Services-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
• Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as Systems Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
• Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware and software components.
• Participate in the development of system of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
• Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis
• Strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions like AWS and alternative cloud service provider frameworks.
• Proven ability to evaluate Customer needs and architect scalable, agile cloud technologies.
• Experience engineering physical and virtual VDI and VPN infrastructures.
• Strong proficiency with network topology to ensure reliable, high-performance, and secure system connectivity

Required Experience

Shall have a minimum of Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.

Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.

Desired Experience

Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related professional engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Compensation

We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise.
