Job summary

Meridian Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the integration of autonomous vehicle hardware and software with base machine systems. You will serve as the engineering interface between autonomous application teams and machine systems, ensuring seamless integration of system architecture, software, and hardware.

You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to support requirements development, validation, testing, and product releases while contributing to the advancement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 5–7 years in systems engineering, software, or controls.
  • Experience with SDLC and product development methodologies.
  • Experience in developing software requirements, architecture docs, and testing plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between autonomy application teams and base machine systems teams.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure hardware/software designs meet program requirements and schedule.
  • Develop and manage system and software requirements for autonomous features.
  • Coordinate with program managers and architects to meet scope, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Oversee software integration for NPI and CPI initiatives.
  • Support field data collection activities, including hardware design support, procurement coordination, and deployment to field locations.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation: architecture specs, design docs, verification plans, test procedures, operating procedures, safety docs.
  • Assist with verification and validation activities, including troubleshooting hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and field testing.
  • Participate in the design and development of application software and algorithms for autonomous platforms.
  • Collaborate with global teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful system integration.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the integration of autonomous vehicle hardware and software with base machine systems. In this role, you will serve as the engineering interface between autonomous application teams and machine systems teams, ensuring seamless integration of system architecture, software, and hardware. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to support requirements development, validation, testing, and product releases while contributing to the advancement of autonomous machine technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the engineering liaison between autonomy application teams and base machine systems teams.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure hardware and software designs are delivered on schedule and meet program requirements.
  • Develop, decompose, and manage system and software requirements for autonomous machine features.
  • Partner with technical program managers and application architects to ensure project objectives for scope, quality, cost, and schedule are achieved.
  • Coordinate software integration and delivery for new product introductions (NPI) and continuous product improvement (CPI) initiatives.
  • Support field data collection activities, including hardware design support, procurement coordination, and deployment to field locations.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including architecture specifications, software design documents, verification plans, test procedures, operating procedures, and safety documentation.
  • Assist with verification and validation activities, including troubleshooting hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and supporting proving ground and field testing.
  • Participate in the design and development of application software and algorithms for autonomous and robotic platforms.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful system integration.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related accredited technical discipline.
  • 5-7 years of engineering experience in systems engineering, software development, controls engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and structured product development methodologies.
  • Experience developing software requirements, architecture documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with software product testing, verification, validation, and test planning.
  • Experience using application development tools and supporting software integration activities.
  • Programming experience with the ability to design, debug, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills involving hardware, software, and integrated systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, or advanced machine control systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and validation environments.
  • Experience supporting autonomous vehicle, heavy equipment, or embedded systems development.
  • Knowledge of AI concepts and practical application within engineering systems.
  • Experience supporting field testing, proving ground validation, or data collection activities.
  • Project coordination experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
