Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced automotive systems engineer in Illinois. The role focuses on developing and managing system and software requirements for automotive products, ECUs, and vehicle functions, with emphasis on traceability, verification, validation, and change control.

Candidates should have 4+ years in the field, hands-on RM tool experience, and familiarity with CAN/Ethernet networks and modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/SE/ME or related field.
• 4+ years of automotive systems engineering, requirements engineering, or validation.
• Experience developing and managing system and software requirements for automotive products, ECUs, controllers, or vehicle functions.
• Strong understanding of requirements traceability, verification, validation, and change management processes.
• Hands-on experience with IBM DOORS, DOORS DNG, Jama, or comparable requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, vehicle diagnostics, and automotive communication architectures.
• Experience supporting system integration testing, HIL/SIL validation, and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with UML, SysML, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or related modeling tools.
