Responsibilities

This is a remote position.

The Director of Strategic Sourcing for Cardiovascular is responsible for overseeing a national perspective and strategic focus for approximately $780M annual spend. The leader will have a strong GPO background and is responsible for defining and implementing strategies to optimize total cost of ownership, including product sourcing, product standardization, and vendor standardization. This position leads a category team of managers with expertise and extensive knowledge of cardiovascular products and market dynamics. The role interfaces with high-level clinical and organizational leadership, as well as external vendor resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspire and lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and delivering cardiovascular supply value improvement goals while maintaining quality, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Maintain sourcing calendar, ensure proper lead times, evaluate contract categories regularly, understand spend variances, and identify opportunities for value improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with clinical, financial, and strategic goals, supporting local challenges and anticipating potential issues between national and local strategies.
  • Facilitate partnerships between supply chain and clinicians to ensure clinically driven, fact-based sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Contracting, Data & Analytics, Purchasing, Technology, Operations, and Implementation teams to ensure timely completion of sourcing initiatives and support during conversions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular suppliers and products, evaluating new products from clinical, financial, operational, and strategic perspectives.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Gather complex service line attributes and synthesize them into multi-year, fact-based strategies providing clear roadmaps for clinicians and non-clinicians alike.
  • Draft formal position papers for review and approval by executive leadership and governance bodies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Clinical Area, Business, or Healthcare Administration; Master's preferred, or clinical degree with a Master's in Healthcare or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of experience within a GPO or sourcing/contracting organization of similar scope.
  • 15+ years of leadership experience overseeing strategic sourcing, vendor relations, and analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating collaboration among clinicians, supply chain, and senior stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation skills to balance business objectives and stakeholder interests.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and delivering results in complex environments.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities.
Pay Range

$75.64 - $109.67 per hour
